The Big Assignment.

Today we where given a briefing of the first large assignment out of the three. By the looks of it I will be using a lot of references to do most of the tools to use. I already printed 7 pages worth of code and who knows how much highlighter fluid I'm going to use.

I'm quite excited about this assignment though as irritating and large as it is. Not to mention boring. It looks incredibly boring, but thats ok. I'm most likely going to make a Dungeons and Dragons monster manuel-like program. I'll allow the person to enter in there monster with health and initiative rolls as well as a section to allow a person to enter in players as well. Then allow them to call them up at anytime from the save file.

Overly Complicated Program.

We had to make a program that grabbed data from a text file that contained information about snowfall in each city and sort each city from largest average of snowfall to the least average.

I did the program but it took me to long and I made it way to overcomplicated. It took me the whole weekend to figure out how to solve the problem in it and fortunately the program isn't due until Tuesday at 8:30 am rather then Monday. So that gave me the time to fix the other bugs that where in it. It certainly was a relief to find that out, I wasn't done yesterday at all. Now all there is to do is wait and see what mark I get. Hopefully something decent since I actually put some effort into it and remembered to comment my code as well. That also reminds me, I've been getting better at commenting faster for my programs. Thats good news at least.

Quizes Are A Pain

I wasn't to sure what to put into the quiz and I'm pretty sure that I messed up on it sadly. Maybe I will get some part marks if he is nice. Highly doubt it.

I understand how the binary search works, but the question was weird. I mean you have multiple names to find in the three questions, and they want to know how you would solve them with the search. Did they want me to put the actual numbers? Or solve it the real way with variables? I solved it with variables which will work for all the questions asked. I sadly forgot to put a != sign for the questions because I had to rush in the end. I have a good feeling that I didn'd do to well in this quiz.

The Median.

This program was so irritating for me. It took me forever to get it right and working and all I got was 19/20 for using the compare to function. Which I suppose makes me lucky rather then upset. He could have taken off more marks for that but at least I got the program working.

He also didn't notice that the program did have a EvenOdd method in use. Although thats my fault for putting it in a odd place, I'm just lucky that he didn't take a mark off for that. So in the end I'm happy about my mark, and I really worked hard for that irritatingly small program. I don't know whats wrong with me, either I'm a good programmer because I'm able to actually complete my programs and figure out whats wrong with them, or I'm a bad programmer because it takes me to long to realize the answer to my problem. I suppose that puts me in the middle, which isn't that good. I sometimes wonder to myself whether or not I'm really cut out for this stuff, but its just so weirdly fun for me. It's most likely because I feel like I'm creating something like how I do in painting. Ah well.

Artificial Inteligence?

This new unit we are doing will be fun, and so far I understand it. I do have a few questions on how to do certain things with it but those will most likely be answered in the future since this is only the first day. I also got to see my marks for the test I did yesterday. I'm okay with the mark, I've been doing better lately. It's only because I'm not very good at writing out programs on pencil, I think I rely to much on Express to point out my Errors.

Today I wrote my test! It was interesting. I think I did okay on it. I definetly will run out of time as usual in the end. I'm not fast enough on paper and such. Ah well. Cryptography is fun, I really wish we could do more things on it, I don't find it to hard at the moment and would be interested in continueing in it. Although putting data into a picture or a movie file looks difficult and scary.

Strings Strings Strings

These look irritating to program. Nothing really that hard looking but still nothing overly fun like the structures and arrays. The questions for homework are going to be interesting. Most likely a Sunday project to do. I have to look over Math this weekend as well.

I also got my marks back for a test we did. I got 27/30 so thats good, and I also got my marks for the assignment we had to do on Tuesday. I got 23/25 on that. It was a fun project but I guess I wasn't creative enough for it.
